Ion-exchange Resin Replacement Cartridge — 20″ × 4.5″

HFS-FRS-2045

Help keep hard-water scale in check.

Refresh the resin stage in your compatible housing. Ion-exchange media targets dissolved hardness minerals, including calcium, to help reduce new scale build-up.

It treats hardness minerals before they contribute to scale on taps, shower fittings and kettles. Existing deposits still need cleaning.

  • Targets calcium and other hardness minerals.

Measure these two.

Measure the cartridge you're replacing, not its housing.

A filter cartridge with two measurements marked: A, overall length end to end including caps or connectors; B, widest outside diameter.
A Overall length — end to end, including caps or connectors
B Outer diameter — at the widest point of the body

Will it fit?

Match the 20″ × 4.5″ format.

Compare your current cartridge’s overall length, widest diameter and end seals. 20″ × 4.5″ is a nominal format, so check the cartridge itself before ordering.

Measured it and still not sure?

Send a photo of the cartridge beside a tape measure and we'll tell you which size it is.

Nominal sizes vary a little between makers, so match the measurement rather than the label. What we can't tell you is how ours compares to a cartridge we didn't make and haven't tested, or whether a replacement affects your housing's own warranty; that one is between you and its manufacturer.

Need help choosing? Call 0474 189 347.

Will it fit my housing?

It uses the 20″ × 4.5″ nominal cartridge format. Compare the actual length, diameter and end seals with your current cartridge before ordering.

When should I replace it?

Plan to replace it every 6–12 months. Water quality and use can require earlier changes.

Will it clean away scale that is already there?

It targets minerals in incoming water to help reduce new build-up. Existing deposits still need cleaning.
